Day 1 - finally

It seems to have been a long time coming! My cycle was only 21 days last month, so since Thursday I have been checking whether my period has started far too often than is sensible. But today was the day (24 days since my last period), so I rang the clinic and left a message as instructed.

Nurse K rang me back this afternoon and we went through the procedure for the next week or so. On Monday morning I will have the Elonva injection. D and I have been shown how to do this by the nurse, but we also have a DVD about it. We have decided to watch this, just to make sure we know exactly what to expect. Next Friday we will start the Orgalutran injections in the evening. We're old hands as far as Orgalutran is concerned, so there shouldn't be any problems there. Then, first thing in the morning on the following Monday, I am booked in for a scan to see how well my ovaries are doing and how many follicles there are on each side.

I am feeling quite hopeful today. It even occurred to me that this might be my last period for quite a while! I just can't bear to think about how I will feel if this doesn't work, so it seems best to stay positive, at least for now.
